Overview of Position
As part of our centralized quality assurance team, this role will be responsible for performing coding quality assurance reviews for our Anesthesia coders. This will involve being responsible for understanding not only coding guidelines from CMS and AMA but, will also be required to become familiar with client- specific pathways in order to timely and accurately perform the Anesthesia quality assurance reviews. This role will be required to perform in a fast-paced environment and be flexible enough to be able to work independently as well as very closely with other members of the QA team under specific targeted parameters.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- To perform Anesthesia coding quality assurance reviews on clients
- Be responsible for understanding all client pathways.
- Knowledge in national coding guidelines with CMS, AMA, AHA
- Performing QA's in a Microsoft Excel-based tool.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Years of experience: 5 years of anesthesia coding experience, 3 years of quality assurance auditing experience
- Education: High school graduate, Certified Professional Coder (CPC), additional certifications preferred, e.g., CANPC
- Physical requirements: Large percentage of time performing computer based work is required
