Summary

Has in-depth experience in software programming, one or more technologies and/or one or more product lines. Participates in resolving or resolves semi-complex tests / tools design / development and white box testing. Possesses good debugging, development, and test/automation code/tools review skills. May serve as a technical resource to and mentor less experienced personnel. Analyze Semi complex code changes for developing test strategy in an efficient manner. May be a QE lead on a project.

Scope

  • Conducts semi-complex technical analyses to design and implement test software (unit test/automation) for software applications or software test tools that achieve desired functionality for several or a few products / systems / software applications.
  • Executes semi-complex software engineering / technical assignments that involve advanced analysis / programming / evaluation / white box testing. Analyze code changes to developing test strategy.
  • Able to develop solutions that meet customer needs when provided business requirements. Proposes technical design for review from an architect or more senior engineer.
  • Software developed typically impacts one or a few products / projects / processes or portions of same.
  • Decisions and actions may influence the work of other team members, other teams, a few management decisions or occasional customer outcomes.
  • Develops robust software engineering / technical solutions and designs that adhere to design specifications and that fully anticipate future product features and functionality.
  • May participate in software project estimates.
  • May participate in software design reviews. May participate in the selection of software engineering / technical design solutions for assigned products or aspects of assigned products.
  • Solves assigned software engineering / technical problems in resourceful and effective ways.
  • Mentors, reviews the work of, and may train less experienced personnel.
  • Typically works on projects across Sub-BU Product lines or across Sub-BU's.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Designs, codes, unit tests, white box tests, and debugs software; writes or participates in code documentation.
  • Participates in assigned tasks comprising software test engineering / framework design for projects from products / customer requirements to functional specifications to coding to unit testing and debugging to software acceptance and release.
  • May collaborate with development in the design of products to ensure instrumentations are in place allowing to automate the testing and, more in general, to analyze the testability of the software.
  • Follows development best practices.
  • Keeps agile tracking tool(s) up to date.
  • Owns personal career growth, team feature quality (including test strategies and code coverage) and driving team retrospectives.
  • May act as subject matter expert in one area to other engineers. Includes activities such as cross-team design sessions, Brown Bags/Tech Talks, integration working groups, etc.

Role in Strategy

  • Able to propose low-level design for task- and story-level assignments, offers recommendations for broader design topics.
  • Able to estimate and plan for task and story level assignments.
  • May participate in product or domain design or architectural strategy discussions.
  • May contribute IP to CHC patent portfolio at the Sub-BU Product Line level.

  • Potential errors include:
    • Faulty software design, coding, testing, debugging of aspects of software code
    • Legal, regulatory and statutory non-compliance in software design or code
  • Errors may result in modest:
    • Time and expense to correct
    • Delays in product approvals and shipments
    • Regulatory response
  • Errors can have a significant impact on product functionality and customer operations but is generally limited to one software version.
  • Errors may require the application of modest additional resources to resolve or correct.
  • Root causes of errors can be readily detected by the QA process.

Communications / Interactions

  • May participate in negotiating design changes.
  • May consult with engineering managers, architects, more senior engineers on product designs.
  • Internal contacts are somewhat regular with individuals of moderate influence primarily within the engineering organization.
  • Receives and transmits semi-routine information requiring some explanation or interpretation, typically to members of the technical team.
  • External contacts are relatively infrequent.
  • Serves as a technical resource and design critic to peers and less senior engineers.
  • May influence peers and project technical leadership on test strategy and design.
  • Champions our development culture, vision, methodology and projects and may catalyze improvements to quality and delivery within their team.
  • May support interactions with regulators.

Assignment of Work

  • Work is subject to regular supervisory oversight at defined project / task milestones.
  • Determines methods for own work and may assist in determining methods for the work of the team on semi-complex assignments, designs solutions for assigned tasks with minor senior review.
  • Escalates complex technical issues or requests to gain cooperation at levels of mid-management.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Has in-depth knowledge of / skills in one or more of the content areas:
    • Experience in Functional, Regression, E2E ,UAT Test Design and Execution
    • Experience in designing different Automation Frameworks for Web and Mobile Applications (Web/Native) to Android and IOS
    • Exposure to Non-Functional testing tools like Performance, Security etc..
    • Experience in creating stubs and Driver Scripts.
    • Experience in AWS Resources, Relational and Non-Relational Databases
    • Expertise in API testing
    • Knowledge in Microservices, Node and React.js
    • Experience in AWS Application/Network Monitoring Tools
    • Exposure to Devops and CI/CD pipeline integration tools
    • Experience in Agile methodology
    • Good Communication skills
    • Learns new skills both as directed and self-directed.
    • Has advanced in-depth proficiency in multiple relevant software engineering design processes.
    • Regularly explores and learns new skills/knowledge and applies them in practice; mentors others in skills/knowledge.
    • Expertise in coordinating with Onshore/offshore team
  • Advanced resource / time management skills.
  • Learns new skills both as directed and self-directed.
  • Basic project management knowledge. Good time management skills.
  • Master's / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Typically has 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • Has in-depth proficiency in multiple relevant software engineering design processes.
  • Continues to grow in healthcare IT knowledge while in role.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Change Healthcare offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The base pay range for this position is $72,576.00 - $161,280.00
