Are you interested in building and running AI platform at a company that provides highest quality of care to millions of people and brings efficiency into healthcare system, then we should talk. Change Healthcare is looking for a Director of Engineering in AI Engineering team which is part of Enterprise Technology organization. This role will require you to lead and mentor highly technical areas related to Machine Learning and data systems to empower greater community of Data Scientists, ML Engineers and implement solutions in partnership with various business units across Change Healthcare. This role is completely remote with only occasional travel for business meetings.

As a leader for AI Engineering team, you will work with leaders across various business units, Product Management and Data Scientists to deliver high quality AI Platform and services for accelerating development and operations of AI solutions. You will drive technical roadmap for AI Platform, lead a team of smart engineers for implementation and drive adoption by various teams across the company. Besides charting a technical path, you will get to work with passionate and strong professionals across the board to create strong partnerships and build a high performing team.

Ideal candidate has experience and passion for Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) practice. Has experience leading development of software platforms and deep knowledge of ML and AI toolkits and processes such as MLFlow, Model Monitoring, GitOps-style CI/CD, data catalog, feature stores, etc.

**Note: This is not a Data Science role.

Core Responsibilities:

  • You will extensive experience building ML Platforms and directly led development of shared services/platforms running AI/ML solutions

  • Direct responsibility of overseeing multiple technical leads and engineers building ML Platform and running operations.

  • Experienced with MLOps practices, ML systems and software platforms to recognize gaps and opportunities for building scalable and maintainable ML systems on public cloud, preferably AWS

  • You will have experience building software systems with emphasis on data engineering and MLOps

  • You bring deep experience building ML/AI platforms at scale and leading large teams that care about making a positive impact.

  • You are a people leader. You thrive in hiring, nurturing, and growing high performing business focused teams.

  • A strategic thinker and planner who can help craft plans to multiple stakeholders. can lead change, operate effectively within a dynamic organization.

  • 10+ years of working in Data/ML platform engineering and large-scale distributed systems.

  • 6+ years in direct leadership role managing first line leaders, architects, and senior engineers.

  • Hands on experience with hiring, growing, and building high performing and large sustainable teams.

  • Prior experience building data and/or AI systems on Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with proven abilities to operate in a fast-moving environment.

  • Broad knowledge in AI domain spanning ML Operations, Conversational AI, data governance and operations.

  • Develop strategies and roll out large scale changes to achieve business outcomes. A strategic thinker who can collaborate to build roadmaps, break them into tactical plans for execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Has experience building high volume and complex data processing systems. Scalable pipelines for data transformation like spark is a plus.

  • Experience with Healthcare domain is a strong plus.

  • Experience working closely with data scientists is desirable.

The applicable base pay for your state is listed below. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Change Healthcare offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with Change Healthcare, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives.

The base pay range for this position is $123,210.00 - $328,680.00
