Clinical Project Manager

Overview of Position

The Clinical Project Manager will have primary responsibility for moving our existing projects forward along with being a key driver in new project initiatives in the Clinical Claims Management business. This role will drive the project plan and timelines for the delivery of the clinical content, including new content models and prototypes.  This leader will be a change agent to define the clinical strategy and accelerate content development and delivery.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Work with State Medicaid (STM) Manager to ensure that all STM-related activities to meet defined timelines. Tracks STM progress ensuring timely data collection, monitoring and, in collaboration with data management, internal listings reviews

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation for workstreams. Provides risk management and work break down schedules. Provide guidance to business for facilities/processes/regulatory, ensuring business model adapts to changing product/business deliverables. This includes, but is not limited to, the development of and assurance of adherence to SOPs and capacity planning models.

  • Analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Identifies gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scales new and current systems, processes and procedures in a cost-effective manner. Assist with the designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. Analyzes recommendations and implements productivity/quality improvements to work processes. Works to identify, process improvement that may or may not include AI.

  • Evaluates existing metrics for trends and utilize the data to facilitate management decisions.  Recommends and creates additional metrics to better assess the health of our people, process and tools. Provides management with periodic project specific metric reports. Manages dashboard and reports.

  • Directs and controls activities for all operational process for Clinical, to include but not limited to, time entry, resource allocation, day to day execution, resource hiring and onboarding

  • Supports the management activities of the programs including Steering Committees and subcommittees, task forces, and workgroups. Provides guidance in strategic systems planning to project teams

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 5+ years’ experience in managing large, complex project teams simultaneously and adherent to standards

What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position?

  • Experience and proficiency in using project management tools

  • Experience developing Product/Team/Process performance metrics

  • Exposure to CPT codes & guidelines, HCPCS codes & guidelines, current ICD-10-CM codes & guidelines and/or current medical coding, billing guideline or healthcare experience, with topics to include but not limited to Medicare Physician Fee Schedule DB, etc.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to MS Word; MS Excel; Outlook; Adobe Pro; ability to use Access at an intermediate level is a plus.

  • Strong research and data mining capabilities necessary along with strong analytical skills.

  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to step through logical pathways to confirm expected results.

  • Results driven individual; must be effective as both a team member and independent worker, with the ability to perform independent self-study, with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to be self-directed daily, with high level of integrity and to successfully manage multiple priorities with deliverables completed on time and with high quality.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present confidently in large group settings.

  • Strong leadership abilities and an aptitude for mentoring and coaching others.

  • Proven ability to proactively devise and implement new processes or resources.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Economics/Finance, Business or Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Information System Management, Health Information Management or other Healthcare related degree or equivalent experience

  • Healthcare Systems Information technology background and/or experience preferred.

  • Basic understanding of software development phases/life cycles a plus.

  • PMP or other PMI certification preferred

  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or Agile preferred
