Position:Healthcare Representatives act as advocates and meet with patients and their families daily. They are responsible for tracking every application they receive and obtaining high rates of successful outcomes. Location: Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, FL

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. May require some weekend and holiday coverage. End-of-month weekend coverage.

  • Additional compensation will be provided for employees who work any time after 7 PM on weekdays. It will also be provided for all weekend shifts worked.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Interviewing clients in a hospital setting to assist them in obtaining maximum benefit coverage.

  • Completing applications for state and federal program, reviewing medical records and taking all actions necessary to expedite benefit approval.

  • May be responsibility formaintaining ongoing communications with government agencies regarding the status of claims.

  • Provide updates and assistance to hospital personnel and other staff as needed.

  • Maintain documentation of status of claims and client contact on Change Healthcare computer system.

  • Other responsibilities that are customer specific

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • Comfortable in a hospital environment
  • Proficient with computer skills and tablet devices including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual Spanish/English highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and Disability 
  • Patient Advocacy experience
  • Direct experience with helping patients complete State/Federal benefit applications
  • Time management skills and attention to detail
  • Professional and polished demeanor
  • Demonstrated experience working with people of various educational and socioeconomics background

Travel:

  • 0-10%: Ability to cover local facilities if ever needed. May require coverage in other Ft. Myers facilities and Cape Coral on occasion.

This position is physically on-site at Lee Memorial Hospital, this is not a remote position.

The applicable base pay for your state is listed below. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Change Healthcare offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The base pay range for this position is $14.19 - $31.50
