Bilingual Healthcare Representative

Work Location:

  • Fort Lauderdale - N Federal HWY - Broward Health Imperial Point

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 8hr workday within the hours of 11:00AM -8:30PM EST. Requires weekend and holiday rotations based on business needs.

  • Additional compensation will be provided for any time worked after 7PM Monday-Friday and anytime worked on the weekends.

Position:

  • The Healthcare Representative act as advocates meeting with patients and their families daily.

  • They are responsible for tracking every application they receive and obtaining high rates of successful outcomes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Interviewing clients in an ER hospital setting to assist them in obtaining maximum benefit coverage.

  • Completing applications for state and federal programs, reviewing medical records and taking all actions necessary to expedite benefit approval.

  • May be responsible for maintaining ongoing communications with government agencies regarding the status of claims.

  • Provide updates and assistance to hospital personnel and other staff as needed.

  • Maintain documentation of status of claims and client contact on Change Healthcare computer system.

  • Other responsibilities that are customer specific.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years healthcare experience.

  • High School Diploma

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish.

  • Computer skills, including word processing (MS Office, Outlook, Excel).

  • Experience in Medical Patients interaction

  • Strong Communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Reliable transportation is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in psychology

  • Demonstrated experience working with people of various educational and socioeconomic backgrounds (healthcare setting preferred)

  • Experience communicating with government caseworkers and hospital personnel.

  • Strong organization skills – ability to prioritize, plan and follow tasks through to completion without direct supervision.

  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of federal and state programs (State Access programs) to benefit coverage for the client.

  • Prior understanding of and ability to apply the medical definition of disability as it relates to body systems and to functions of daily living is preferred.

  • Prior experience with reading and applying the information contained in medical records and medical terminology.
